The Hitchcock Center is a residential treatment facility that supports women and families with substance abuse issues. Their proposed new development is comprised of two adjacent buildings, a residential treatment building and a supportive housing building. The two buildings are divided by a property line and fire wall and are operationally independent.

Conceptual approval as submitted with recommendations:
-Pull the fence back approximately 10 feet from the public sidewalk along Ansel Road.
-Provide landscaping to meet code requirements in front of the fence.
-Widen the fence where possible along the interior walkways, parking areas and interior 
sidewalks to the property with regards to storm water.
-Aligning the first parking stall with the front facing facade of the building along Ansel Road 
of the one parking area.
-Pull out the wall of the 2-bedroom patio areas to be in alignment with the exterior wall of the laundry room to provide more space for those residents. 
-Deinstitutionalizing the esthetic of the building with some fenestration recommendations (ex: potential awnings and pilasters on blank appearing walls). 
-Focus efforts on the public facing elevations of the building and leave the back alone.
-Better integration into the neighborhood along with park use.
